How to get started in your first yoga class!

 

o  Smile - you’ll do great!

o  Always use caution, gentleness and common sense in your yoga practice.

o  Wear comfortable clothes which allow full movement.

o  You may want to keep special exercise clothes, towel or props you use for yoga practice in a certain place in order to help you establish a routine.

o  Please bring your own mat to class.

o  Any type will do and this will be a lot more hygienic for you.

o  Mats can be washed with warm water and soap.

o  There are also yoga mats for sale at the yoga studio.

o  Yoga postures should be done on an empty stomach.

o  DO NOT TRY TO IMPRESS OTHERS with your accomplishments.

It is better to direct all that energy to become established in your own practice.

o  Please be on time.

In the unlikely event that you are late, please enter room quietly.

Do some light stretching on your own, and then join the class in progress.

o  There are days that you will be more flexible than other days.

o  Have fun, RELAX with it and BE KIND TO YOURSELF!
